With summer approaching fast, you'll want to give your canine family members plenty of opportunities to run outside. Here are the Rockland County dog parks to visit.

Your dog is your best friend. If you are like most people, you want to be able to spend quality time with your best friend outside where you can run and play and soak up some sunshine. Our real estate agents have put together a list of dog parks and pet-friendly green spaces where you and your buddy can have some fun. Whether you have lived in Rockland County all your life or are just considering a move, we have a lot to offer pet owners who enjoy being outside with their animals.

  • Kennedy Dells County ParkKennedy Dells County Park is the perfect place to really get back to nature. If you are out looking for Rockland County homes for sale, the park is not far away! The park is pet friendly and has plenty of trails for hiking and exploring the great outdoors. Pack a lunch and have a picnic. You can spend the entire day at the park and enjoy all the sights and sounds of nature. This is a great place to take your family and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

  • Elizabeth Street Dog Park – Located in South Nyack, the Elizabeth Street Dog Park is a great place to take your pet. There are wide open spaces where your dog can dash around to work off some of that excess energy. The park has everything a dog could want to enjoy when they are playing outside. You may even be able to get in a little exercise on your own. Take a few snacks and enjoy some quality time with one another.

  • Clarkstown's K-9 Corrals Dog Park at Congers Lake SouthClarkstown's K-9 Corrals Dog Park at Congers Lake South is made up of two specific dog areas. The first area is for smaller dogs that weigh less than 25 pounds. The second area is for dogs larger than 25 pounds. Both parks are open from dawn to dusk to residents whose dogs are registered with the town clerk. You can play with your dog in a safe and secure environment that has plenty of fun things to do.

  • Kakiat Dog Park – While Kakiat Park is an on-leash designated area for dogs, the Kakiat Dog Park is a fenced-in area where you can allow your dog to run off their leash. There is no water source inside the dog park, but you can allow your dog to splash in the nearby stream on hot summer days. The restrooms are close by. If you want to explore trails and other park areas outside of the dog park, you will have to keep your dog on its leash once you are outside the fence.

  • Peekskill Dog Park – The Peekskill Dog Park uses many of the natural elements already in the park to create a fun and exciting place for your dog to play. Fundraisers are underway to make the park larger and build another shelter. Friends of the Peekskill Dog Park would also like to raise enough money to create trails and paths that connects each of the three areas that are already in place. Stop by the park and see what it has to offer. It's a great place to play with your pet.

Playing with your pet is a great way to relax after a long day. Stop at any of the dog parks or green spaces in the area to find out what each one of them has to offer. If you find a home in Rockland County that you would like to tour while you're out, contact us, and we will set up a tour!
