With a paved road and a dirt path available, there are trailheads in several places along the way, including the Hopewell Depot Museum, Wappinger, East Fishkill, and LaGrange, all of which include parking lots. This broad, asphalt trail is open to both regular bikes and e-bikes, as well as skaters and pedestrians. - Ashokan Rail Trail - West Hurley, NY 12491
The Ashokan Reservoir is a beautiful area with views of water, woods, fields, and more. And one of the best ways to see it is along the Ashokan Rail Trail. The 11.5-mile trail is surfaced with fine, crushed stone and provides plenty of space for walking, biking, and even skiing in winter. Open sunrise to sunset throughout the year, the trail has multiple trailheads between West Hurley and Boiceville and is fully wheelchair-accessible.
