If you're a beginning golfer, Rockland Lake State Park Golf Course is a good one to start on. Spook Rock Golf Course is an award-winning, 150-acre course designed for golfers of all types. Golf Digest has named New York Country Club one of the best places to play, and the 18-hole course certainly delivers on that promise. The 6,643-yard course has three sets of tees for various skill levels and a slope rating of 72.3/133. Located near Spring Valley homes for sale, it has several great design elements, including water features and several strategic bunkers. While it is a semi-private club, non-members can still enjoy the course and book their tee times up to seven days in advance. - Philip J. Rotella Memorial Golf Course - 100 Thiells Mount Ivy Road, Pomona, NY 10970
The Philip J. Rotella Memorial Golf Course is worth playing for the par-5 at hole 9 alone—one of the most challenging you'll find. All 18 holes on this par-72 course are worthwhile, though, filled with water hazards, sand traps, and other features to help you hone your skills. Located not far from these Thiells homes for sale, the course has a learning center with lessons and a great driving range. And for repeat visitors, get a frequent player card with a $12 discount when you play.
