Pepperoni Pizza Day: Where to Order in the City Sept. 20 | Joyce Realty

The pepperoni pizza is one of America's favorite culinary creations, so it's no surprise we've dubbed September 20 National Pepperoni Pizza Day. There are few better places to celebrate than The Big Apple, one of the world's top pizza destinations. There are hundreds of pizza shops across the five boroughs, so narrowing down your choices can quickly become overwhelming. We asked our real estate agents to list their top five favorite NYC pizza choices, and here are the results.

  • Sal and Carmine's - 2671 Broadway, New York, NY 10025
A classic NYC pizza joint, Sal and Carmine's has been serving fresh New York-style pepperoni pizzas since 1957. All pizzas are made fresh daily and have the optimal cheese-to-sauce ratio. Grab a huge slice of pepperoni for $4.75, or order a whole pie to go. While in the area, don't forget to schedule your tour of your favorite New York County homes for sale.

  • Vinnie's Pizzeria - 148 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11249
You'll find some of the most delicious and creative pies at Vinnie's Pizzeria in Williamsburg. While the pizza recipe hasn't changed since 1960, the daily specials do, and they're often featured on a "special bored" with a theme, dry-erase marker art, and plenty of puns. All pizzas are available by the slice. If you really want to go all out for Pepperoni Pizza Day, you can order a pizza cooked into a pizza box made of pizza for $40.

  • Louie & Ernie's - 1300 Crosby Ave., Bronx, NY 10461
An iconic New York pizza destination in the Bronx, Louie & Ernie's is an old-school pizza parlor with some of the best thin crust you'll ever have. This neighborhood spot is known for its White Pizza, available by the slice or pie. They also have a great selection of hearty calzones, and indoor and outdoor seating is available.

  • Mama's TOO! - 2750 Broadway, New York, NY 10025
    Mama's Too!
is an Upper West Side pizza parlor and NYC favorite. You'll love their signature square pepperoni slices with crunchy crusts and subtly sweet sauce. This shop serves several specialty pies, including the Poached Pear with aged mozzarella, poached pear, Gorgonzola, and hot honey. Order a pizza or take advantage of the indoor and outdoor seating.

  • John's Of Bleecker Street - 278 Bleecker St., New York, NY 10014
One of the oldest pizza shops in NYC, John's of Bleeker Street has maintained its old -chool character. This pizza parlor specializes in thin coal-oven-fired pizzas loaded with huge portions of sauce, cheese, and toppings of your choice. No slices are available here—pizza is only sold by the pie. Sandwiches, salads, and appetizers are also on the menu.

  • Pizzeria Giove - 278 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY 10306
Staten Island is home to one of the best pizza places in New York City. Pizzeria Giove is a highly popular eatery with delicious slices of thin, crispy pizza. Choose from a large selection of red or white specialty pies, or try the old, reliable pepperoni classic pizza. This restaurant serves some delicious seafood appetizers, soups, pasta, and salads too.

With so many incredible pizza shops in New York, choosing a favorite is no easy task. If you're ready to start planning your move to the Big Apple, contact us today.
