Family-owned Maplehorst Farm Nursery dates back four generations to patriarch George Rapp, who started the business in 1930. Pierson's Farm, founded in 1790, is a Hudson Valley historical landmark. Orrin and Jackie Pierson, along with their four adult daughters, are the seventh and eighth generations to run the 270-acre family farm. Along with Christmas trees, the farm features a market and gift shop selling grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken, and locally made honey, syrup, and jam. Christmas tree sales run from 11/29-12/23, with hours from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Reservations are required for cut-your-own-tree, while pre-cut trees are available on a walk-in basis.
