National news shows Good Morning America, Today, and CBS This Morning have turned their spotlight on the charming cut-your-own-tree experience offered at dog-friendly Emmerich Tree Farm. With upwards of 10,000 trees, you're sure to find the right one for your home. Current inventory numbers are posted on their website for your reference. Free hot chocolate is on hand for guests, along with food for purchase from an onsite food truck. Emmerich Tree Farm, only minutes from Orange County homes for sale, is open the weekend after Thanksgiving and the first two weekends of December. Reservations are required, and the $40 fee is applied to your tree purchase.

Enjoy a day of fun for the whole family when you visit Christmas Tree Lane. In addition to choosing and cutting your own Christmas tree, you can shop for unique gifts from local artisans in Grandma's Barn. After the kids take a spin on the reindeer barrel train, roast marshmallows over the fire as you sip on hot chocolate or dine on an assortment of tasty food for purchase. Santa and the Grinch will be making select appearances as well. Family-owned Maplehorst Farm Nursery dates back four generations to patriarch George Rapp, who started the business in 1930. Nearly a century later, George's grandson and great-grandchildren continue his legacy with more than 40 acres of Christmas trees near Sullivan County homes for sale. Be sure to stop at the Christmas Shoppe, opened 20 years ago in the 1939 farmhouse built by George Rapp. Have some hot spiced cider as you browse an assortment of ornaments and decorations, locally-made gift items, and specialty food products. Hours are 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily.

Pierson's Farm, founded in 1790, is a Hudson Valley historical landmark. Orrin and Jackie Pierson, along with their four adult daughters, are the seventh and eighth generations to run the 270-acre family farm. Along with Christmas trees, the farm features a market and gift shop selling grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken, and locally made honey, syrup, and jam. Christmas tree sales run from 11/29-12/23, with hours from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Reservations are required for cut-your-own-tree, while pre-cut trees are available on a walk-in basis.
