Hands-on exhibits even show kids how early fire solutions, such as bucket brigades, worked.

The Hudson Highlands Nature Center is a great place to spend some time outdoors, learning about the plants and animals that call the Hudson Valley home. If you visit the center for a hike, be aware that dogs are not allowed on the property. Trail maps are available on the center's website, and there are plenty of options for shorter, kid-friendly hikes of 1 mile or less.
